Description: In this unit, students analyze the use of repetition, figurative language, mood, and other elements of poetry, using a variety of texts from Gwendolyn Brooks, Carl Sandburg, Langston Hughes, and other authors. Students present their findings in a variety of formats ranging from individual reports to group collages, poems, and pantomimes.
